The Property Care Association
We’re proud that TP Knotweed has gained a strong reputation across the UK for providing reliable high quality Japanese Knotweed solutions, and we are always looking to work with trusted organisations to make our service the best it can possibly be. As members of the Property Care Association (PCA), we have been comprehensively audited and accredited with having met the high standards required to join this prestigious organisation.
About The PCA
The Property Care Association is the association that represents trade specialists, and provides reassurance to customers about who can be trusted to resolve serious problems affecting building structure and land.
The PCA is an association with a rich history. After the establishment of the British Wood Preserving Association in 1930, and the merging with the BCDA in 1989, the association as we know it developed in 2006, with the PCA splitting from the BWPDA to form its own organisation.
They work with multiple government departments, take part in vital consultations and also help with the development of new and updated guidelines,. The primary purpose of the PCA is to improve client outcomes and promote best practice to those in the trade.
Below is an outline of the Mission Statement outlined on the PCA’s official website:
“To promote high standards of professionalism and expertise within the industry through training and other support services. To promote these standards outside the Association to ensure that members of the Property Care Association are perceived as the best providers in these specialist sectors: structural maintenance, timber preservation, damp and condensation control, flood protection and remediation and the control and management of invasive weeds.”
The PCA ensure that their members execute supreme excellence in their services by:
- Regularly auditing members to ensure they excel in all areas of their business.
- Regular site inspections by independent inspectors.
- Implementing consistent and strict membership terms.
- Monitoring and supporting the education and qualifications of the members’ employees.
- Increasing standards across the board.
Our membership with the PCA ensures that we maintain the highest possible standards in our Japanese Knotweed services, and that our clients can have the utmost confidence in our performance as knotweed specialists. Our solutions are entirely in line with the Property Care Association code of practice as well as that of the Environment Agency. Our commitment to best practice is comprehensive across all jobs; residential, commercial, and local authority.
Why The PCA?
There are a number of reasons why choosing a PCA member is a sensible approach. The association’s own justification outlines;
“When called upon, PCA members will undertake professional trustworthy site surveys and investigations delivering peace of mind through detailed investigation and correct diagnosis.These services are provided by trained, experienced, vetted and qualified surveyors and inspectors. When repairs or improvements are found necessary members are able to complete highly specialised repairs and treatments, effectively, efficiently and safely, using skilled experienced site operatives.”
For the client, membership of the PCA is a clear signal of quality and consistency, and at TP Knotweed, we are proud to be part of such an important group.
