Japanese knotweed Case Study: A2 Dominion

PROJECT SCOPE

TP knotweed Solutions were appointed to remediate a Japanese knotweed infestation on a parcel of land in West London. The client’s objective was to develop over the infested areas within the next 1-2 months to build residential property.

REMEDIATION STRATEGY

After liaising with the client and careful consideration of site constraints and budgets, along with a Party Wall Agreement in place, it was decided that complete excavation of the Japanese knotweed and licensed disposal was the most appropriate remediation strategy.

Once the area had been excavated under the expert eye of our specialist Clerk of Works, a geo-textile root barrier was installed along the site boundary to protect the development site against Japanese knotweed growing on the neighbouring land. Following the main works a 2 year monitoring programme is now being carried out and a 10 Year ‘Insurance Backed’ Guarantee will be issued upon completion.
